Lister, and in 1995 she merged with Coldwell Banker Bain. She then created her own company, Wendy M. Wendy began her real estate career in 1976 working with George Lister Real Estate. She was dedicated to the Mercer Island community and was an influential member of many organizations that benefited from her contributions over the years. ![]() She loved living on the Island and lived there until she passed. Wendy and her family moved to Mercer Island in 1965. and they had three children: Kathryn, John Jr. from the University of Washington, where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. In 1948, Wendy and her family moved from Chicago to Seattle, Washington, where they lived on Queen Anne Hill and she attended Queen Anne High School. ![]() While growing up in Chicago she enjoyed Archery Club, Brownies and Girls Scouts and broke the Albert Tangora world record for typing speed on a standard typewriter. In 1940, Wendy, her parents and her brother moved to Chicago, Illinois. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Roosevelt Administration. ![]() while her father served as the Chief Appraiser for the U.S. Wendy lived the first four years of her life in D.C. to Leonard Downie and Helen Daggett Downie. Wendy was born in 1936 in Washington D.C. Lister passed away on October 2, 2019, at age 83. Box 2209, New London, NH 03257.Beloved mother, adored grandmother, and cherished friend, Wendy M. She is survived by two daughters, Wendy and her husband, Scott McKenney of Georges Mills, NH and Judy Petruzzelli of Chelsea, MA a sister, Mildred Nicolas of Plymouth, MA six grandchildren, Melanie, Julia, Jamey, Thomas, Nickolas and Adam and five great grandchildren, Cameron, Sadie, Sarah, Connor and Jayley and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she dearly loved. Her husband of 56 years, Herbert Lohnes, died in 2006. In her later years, Marion enjoyed taking rides to look at the scenery and particularly enjoyed the overlook at the Chatham Lighthouse. When her husband retired, she and he took many cruises and trips with friends and family. She was very active in the Carmel Chapter of The Order of The Eastern Star in North Reading and Chatham and held all the officer positions. The grandchildren, nieces and nephews were all fortunate enough to have blankets crocheted by Marion. She and her mother would sell their beautiful handmade items at their little section of the fair called Granny’s Corner and would donate the money to the church. Marion loved to crochet and would make many items for the church fairs. She enjoyed being a member of the Women’s Group in South Chatham. She was an active member of the North Reading Congregational Church and then the Chatham Congregational Church. After graduating from high school Marion worked in the business office at Filene's Department Store and an insurance company but once married with children she enjoyed being a stay-at-home Mom. For the past three years she spent most of her time in NH. She graduated from Medford, MA High School and lived in North Reading, MA for several years before moving to South Chatham in 1987. She was born in Medford, MA on Octothe daughter of Harold and Norma (Mood) Downie. ![]() (Downie) Lohnes, 87, of Kittys Lane, died Friday, Januat her daughter’s home in Georges Mills, NH.
